About this ebook

SOONER OR LATER THE DEAD CATCH UP....

'A true spine-tingler...will haunt you and startle you and stay with you and yes, visit you in your dreams' HARLAN COBEN
'Wild, mesmerizing...a Valentine from hell' NEW YORK TIMES

Judas Coyne was a collector. The bizarre, the unusual, the grotesque: a cookbook for cannibals, a used hangman's noose. Usually the objects were sent by the black-clad fans who made his metal band a legend and made him rich.

But this time, when his personal assistant told him there was a ghost for sale on the Internet, Jude didn't think twice. But he should have.

Of all the ghosts around him-the abusive father, the battered, resentful child Jude once was, the bandmates he betrayed, Anna, the suicidal girl he loved and dumped-this new one means to haunt him all the way to hell.

Praise for Sunday Times bestseller Joe Hill:

'Joe Hill gloriously resurrects the doorstop horror blockbuster for a startling new century.' ALAN MOORE
'You won't be able to stop burning through the pages' PAUL TREMBLAY
'A commanding, captivating read' FINANCIAL TIMES
'Fantastically compelling' THE OBSERVER
'Clever, gripping and packs a hell of a punch' JOANNE HARRIS
'Character-driven stories that enthral and thrill' DAILY MAIL
'Original and gripping' GEORGE R. R. MARTIN.

A great premise and some genuine creepy moments at the beginning of the book. It starts to drag a little in the middle with too many descriptive paragraphs, but closer to the the end it gets back on track with more action and supernatural elements. I read Joe Hill's book Horns and a few of his short stories before this one; definitely a new fan, can't believe it's taken me so long to discover this writer!

A genuinely scary and also deeply sad story. I am a fan of horror fiction but find it hard to find stories that really scare me, as they focus too often on unrealistic supernatural, or psycho killer themes without being grounded in real life. This book is an exception as the true horror of the story is not the killer ghost but the very real abuse that preceeded it.

First time I have read a book of this genre without losing interest. Really unusual storyline with hints of Poltergeist. Read it in less than 2 days, not sure I would visit the authors other books though.
