Imidlertid var Romerriket et jordbrukssamfunn der de fleste tjente til livets opphold fra jordbruk (selv om det var mange håndverkere). Bare et lite mindretall av befolkningen bodde i byer. Det var i utgangspunktet to typer mennesker: borgere og ikke-borgere. Romerske borgere hadde visse privilegier. I 212 e.Kr. ble alle frie mennesker i Romerriket statsborgere (Edict of Caracalla).
About the author
Stanford Mc Krause ble født 17. mai 1932 i Montgomery, Alabama. Han var luftfartssystemer ingeniør og test pilot av United States Army. Han studerte ved Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), var i marinen og fløy i 64 kampoppdrag i Nord-Korea.Han jobbet som testpilot for National Aeronautical Advisory Committee (NACA). Hans arbeid som pilot ble utviklet i High Speed Flight Station.I tillegg til historien skriver han også fiction romaner, er skaperen av undergenre "Changing Times", materialisert i trilogien "Trapped Minds".
