Acerca deste livro eletrónico

The final book in the Anne of Green Gables series is the tale of Anne's youngest daughter, Bertha Marilla, affectionately known as Rilla, and the immense upheaval she experiences as the First World War commences.

At fourteen, Rilla is a spirited and dreamy teenager, more interested in her first dance and hoping for her first kiss than the world beyond her doorstep. However, her carefree days at Ingleside are abruptly changed when her brothers go off to fight in the Great War, leaving behind a void and a sense of responsibility she had never anticipated.

Rilla's life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters an orphaned child in desperate need of care and a loving home. As she steps up to the challenge, Rilla's journey mirrors the early years of her mother, Anne, showcasing her growth from a dreamy girl to a mature and compassionate young woman.

Published in 1921, Rilla of Ingleside masterfully captures the trials and tribulations of a young girl coming of age during a time of global upheaval, reflecting the strength and resilience of the human spirit. This edition features a brand-new introductory biography, offering readers fresh insights into Lucy Maud Montgomery's life and legacy.
