Capt. Brar is a Master Mariner with over 17 years at sea out of which 6 years in command.

He was employed for over 11 years with one of the leading ship management companies in the world, where he got his command at a relative young age of 29 years. He also briefly commanded containerships with one of the largest Non-Operating Owners in the container ship industry.

With an interest in academics right from his Pre-Sea Training days as a cadet, where he stood first amongst his batch, Capt. Brar also teaches in a Maritime Training Institute in north India while on vacation.

While sailing, he successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Insurance from World Maritime University, Malmo.

He is currently pursuing LLM Maritime Law from University of .Southampton for personal interest.
