About the author

Mohammad Malek, Ph.D., P.E., is an internationally recognized expert in boiler and pressure vessel technology. He is a professional engineer registered both in the United States and Canada. He has more than 30 years experience in design, construction, installation, operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of boilers and pressure vessels. He has published numerous technical articles and authored chapters in a few books. Dr. Malek is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Safety Engineers, Association of Energy Engineers, Association for Facilities Engineers, International Facility Management Association, National Association of Power Engineers, Florida Engineering Society, and Society of Operations Engineers, UK. He is a speaker for ASME Code Section I-Power Boilers. Currently he is Chief Boiler Inspector for the State of Florida. Dr. Malek is an adjunct professor at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, Tallahassee, Florida.
