About this ebook

Cleo, a city-dweller and successful beauty entrepreneur, finds herself at a crossroads when life pulls her back to Maplewood Grove, the hometown she vowed to leave behind. Returning to care for her father with early-onset dementia, she confronts the life and love she missed in the hustle of the city.

York, with his feet firmly planted in the soil of his farm, lives a life of simple pleasures, yet yearns for a connection that's eluded him. When Cleo walks back into town, it's as if a missing piece of his world snaps into place. Her beauty is evident, but it's her resilience, intelligence, and compassion that captivate him completely.

Together, Cleo and York discover a shared longing for something more, something deeper. As they navigate the tender, sometimes turbulent waters of their growing love, they find themselves facing the complexities of life at a mature age—family pressures, grief, career ambitions, and the pursuit of personal fulfillment.

Will Cleo and York seize their chance at happiness, embracing the love they've found against all odds? Or will the realities of life dim the flame that burns between them?

I have dealt with dementia AZ twice, my own mother and my mother in law so I was drawn to read a story about a family dealing with it. However, Cleo, the daughter, female lead is such a horrible, horrible person I had to quit before finishing it. If she were my daughter I would chase her from the house forever. She never once considered getting a respite worker for her Mom. She just stormed out and left her Mom to do it all instead of helping, every time they argued. And in the hospital she accused her Mom of concealing the aneurysm although her Mom denied knowing about it. Cleo is the most selfish "heroine" I have had the misfortune to meet between the pages of a book. I won't finish reading it because, honestly, I don't give a hoot what happens to her and poor York doesn't deserve to get stuck with such a selfish, self-centered woman.

This is Cleo and York's story. What happens when you come back home to a small town to care for your father? York and Cleo meet and there is a spark, but can Cleo stay in the small town again? Can they have a romance that they both deserve?. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Enjoy the later in life characters and them looking for romance and love when romance and love weren't looking for them. There might be a couple of bumps in the road along the way. Like the characters and the personalities they have. The conversation and interaction is fun to read. It's interesting to read how characters that are set in their ways have to adapt to changes around them. Good read.
