Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts schrieb der Berner Pfarrer Johann David Wyß (Wyss) eine Abenteuergeschichte mit dem Untertitel: "Charackteristick meiner Kinder. In einer Robinsonade". Erzählt wird darin der Schiffbruch einer Familie, die auf einer unbewohnten Insel strandet und dort, der Wildnis trotzend, ihr Überleben versucht.
