I always thought I was just Keira Gully, your average twenty-something trying to make it in the big city and finish college. Normal life, normal dreams, nothing out of the ordinary.

Turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

It all starts with the screech of tires, the crunch of metal, and then... darkness. I wake up in a hospital bed, and the doctors call it a miracle. I call it the day my life turned upside down.

Because my family didn’t make it out of that crash. I did. And now? Now I’m seeing things that can’t be real.

Like the fact my best friend is a witch, or that one of our local hangouts is run by a 7-foot leprechaun, or that freaking werewolves are after me. 

And a cute EMS driver keeps showing up and makes my heart do weird things.

But when I reach out to comfort a dying patient and their spirit zips back into their body like a video on rewind, I realize this is way more than post-accident trauma.

Now, I’m not just Keira. I’m a necromancer—the reluctant kind—trying to piece together the mystery of my past and these strange, terrifying... abilities.

Why didn’t my family ever mention this tiny detail about our lineage?

And if I can bring back the dead, why did they choose to be cremated?

As I dive deeper into this new world, I’m finding out that every touch, every resurrection, comes with a price. And in this game of life and death, the cost might be more than I’m willing to pay.

But a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, even if it means flirting with death on a daily basis.

At least the view’s nice—because that EMS driver? He keeps showing up and let’s just say his smile is to die for. (Too soon for death puns?)
