About this app

Hello Aurora is your all-in-one app for aurora forecasts and real-time alerts. It is the perfect tool for anyone who dreams of seeing the Northern Lights, whether you are a seasoned aurora hunter or planning your first trip. The app keeps you informed and helps you stay ready when the aurora appears.

Stay ahead with real-time aurora data, customised alerts, and get reported sightings from around the world. Our app gathers accurate updates every few minutes and notifies you when the Northern Lights are visible in your area, or when someone nearby has spotted them. You can even share live photos and updates with other users through our interactive real-time map.

Why Choose Hello Aurora?
We created Hello Aurora from our own experience chasing the lights. We know that interpreting aurora forecasts can be overwhelming. That is why our app not only delivers precise data but also provides clear, easy-to-understand explanations of key metrics.

Being out in the cold and dark can feel isolating, so we developed the Moments feature – allowing users to share real-time photos of the aurora from their exact location. It helps build connection and community, making aurora hunting more engaging and less lonely.

Hello Aurora is for both local aurora hunters and visitor. Whether you are watching from your home or exploring a bucket-list destination, our custom location settings and regional notifications ensure you are ready when the lights appear.

Why are the timezones ALL wrong?! And why will the bottom navigation bar never work? It overlaps with the system navigation bar. This is terrible, fix it.

Hi Tony, I’m not sure I fully understand the issue yet, could you clarify a bit more so I can look into it for you? If possible, it would be really helpful if you could also share a screenshot and send it to [email protected]. Cheers!

Hi there, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, you are correct, some data from external sources is currently unavailable. Edit: We've fixed the issue and you should be able to get the real-time data now. Thanks again for reporting. Have a good day!

Toolwise is exceptional, the best app and the one that I used to see and have amazing pictures of the aurora 3 times in the last 10 days. BUT while I was using it, a key function in my opinion (moments) went from available to requiring a registeration. I understand that you need people to be registered in order to post pictures for security reasons and control, but to watch others' pictures? I feel it's unnecessary.

Users viewing photos is what cost us the most, hundred of dollars. We are only two passionate working on this project during our spare time. We had to find a way to minimize the number of views and a better to control on our costs. That's the best trade-off we found, hope you understand. Cheers
