My biggest gripe is with the built-in browser. Please add a way to always open every item in an external browser. This allows me to use my accounts on the respective websites, have browsing history, functional comments, going to other apps (e.g. Twitter) when clicking links in articles, etc. (Update after reply) To be clear, I know how to do this after loading the article, but that's very cumbersome. I want to have it load in the external browser by default without additional clicks, always.

Thank you for using Google News, Ralph! To open the article in an external browser, please follow the steps: After tapping the article, tap the 3-dot overflow menu in the bottom right corner. Tap "View original web page". Hope that helps!

The old google news and weather app was way better. The widget (which I always have on my homescreen) showed all the relevant headlines and the weather for a couple of days in advance. This app however only shows 1 article and a small weather icon. In the app itself you can't even get more detail on the weather it just shows the general temperature and conditions that's it. The old app used to have a (quite accurate) timeline per day so you could see when it would rain, I miss this feature here. So no google, I'm not switching to the new news app which only has half the features of the old one. Thanks but I'll just download the apk of the old app and actually be able to get quick access to the news.

I loved the old version, but this one simply doesn't get the job done. Now I have to go to the browser version and use another app for the weather. The old version was a google app, simple and easy to use. The new one is like flipboard, big gimmicky images, for people who can't read. Instead of 15 articles, it just shows 5 images
